About Ro-Ghoul
Ro-Ghoul is a Tokyo Ghoul-inspired action RPG on Roblox created by solo developer SushiWalrus, launched in July 2017 and still actively updated through 2026. Labeled [ALPHA] since its first day - a badge that reflects its origin rather than its current state - the game has crossed 1 billion visits with 2.09 million favorites and a 90.5% approval rating. Nearly a decade of consistent development and one of the largest community wikis in Roblox gaming (ro-ghoul.fandom.com, 39,000+ pages) make it the definitive Tokyo Ghoul experience on the platform.
Players choose a faction on entry and grind through an open world of faction conflict, boss farming, and gear progression across two completely separate paths - each with its own weapons, abilities, and playstyle:
- ⚔️ Ghoul faction - uses Kagune (organic RC Cell-based appendages in four types: Rinkaku, Ukaku, Bikaku, Koukaku) with high HP and fast regeneration; aggressive playstyle; safe zone at the Anteiku cafe
- ⚔️ CCG faction - uses Quinque (weapons crafted from harvested ghoul Kagune) with breathing techniques and a more reactive playstyle; easier for beginners; headquarters at CCG Tower
- 🗺️ Open world - distinct faction zones alongside shared farming areas like Cargo Base and Construction Site; Eto Yoshimura boss earns 1 million Yen per kill, the top farming target
- 💎 RC Cells and gear progression - RC Cells are earned from kills and act as stage-unlock thresholds without being consumed; buying a new Kagune or Quinque with Yen resets your RC count to 800, ensuring the grind never fully ends
- 🏆 Boost system - defeat player-kill goals for Furuta NPC on the Crane to receive 3 random boost cards every 2 hours; first re-roll is free, additional re-rolls cost Hearts (the PvP currency)
- 💰 Color Credits - a rare cosmetic currency used to customize Kagune, Quinque, and mask colors; earned primarily through codes and rare drops
Yen is the spending currency, earned from kills and boss defeats, used to buy new Kagune, Quinque, and masks at vendors. Hearts are earned by defeating players in open-world PvP (Gyakusatsu does not spawn in private servers, making Hearts unavailable there). Switching factions requires a Wipe Potion, resetting all character progress except prestige.
Ro-Ghoul has no close competitor in the Tokyo Ghoul Roblox space - a large portion of its audience comes from the anime and manga fandom rather than pure Roblox discovery, giving it a distinct and dedicated playerbase after nearly a decade of active development.
